Defense of Osgiliath- Anárion and his forces held Sauron's forces at Osgiliath while Elendil met with Gil-galad, High King of the Elves and formed an alliance.įor two years, Gil-galad and Elendil gathered their forces and prepared for battle with Sauron.Capture of Minas Ithil- Sauron, taking Gondor and Arnor by surprise, captured the city of Minas Ithil and Isildur was one of the only survivors, managing to flee to his father.Anárion, son of Elendil, built Minas Arnor, which would later be known as Minas Tirith.Isildur, son of Elendil, commands the construction of Minas Ithil in Ithillien.Gondor and Arnor are formed by the survivors of Númenor led by Elendil.Elendil and his faithful men had already left the island and after the destruction of the kingdom, they headed towards Middle-earth.The corrupt Númenoreans who survived or had already left the island would go on to serve the forces of darkness and Sauron and became known as Black Númenoreans.
Downfall of Númenor - the kingdom of Númenor falls.As a result, the men split into those loyal to the corrupt king and the faithful led by Elendil. Sauron, while in captivity in the hands of men, began influencing many of the men on Númenor including the king.Sauron allows himself to be captured and to be taken to Númenor.The Dwarves were not corrupted but were overcome with greed and their treasure hordes would always be cursed, attracting dragon fire. The men that were given the rings of power were easily corrupted and were driven mad by greed and power.Defeat of Sauron-The War of the Elves and Sauron ends when the Númenoreans arrive and defeat Sauron and his forces, saving the Elves from certain destruction.
The High Elves engage in a war with Sauron's forces.The Elves immediately take off their rings, sensing Sauron's betrayal but the nine rings given to men easily corrupted their bearers into doing Sauron's will. Forging of the One Ring - Sauron forges the One Ring to rule all of the other rings.Celebrimbor also forges the three Elven rings in secret, which he gives to Gil-galad, Galadriel and Círdan. Celebrimbor helps him forge the rings of power. Forging of the Rings of Power - Sauron forges the rings of power under the alias of Annatar.Sauron befriends Celebrimbor and other Elves under the disguise of Annatar. Sauron, having been the lieutenant of Morgoth, returns and rises to power, building the tower of Barad-dûr and staying in hiding. They would remember this event for years to come. Great Frost - The Harfoots under Sadoc Burrows' leadership, endure a Great Frost which proves a great difficulty for the clan, losing many of their members. The Hunt for Sauron begins - Finrod and Galadriel as well as the other Elves under Gil-galad, begin searching for Sauron following the war, in order to eradicate any inkling of the enemy remaining. The elven swords Glamdring, Orcrist and Sting are lost and eventually find their way into a troll hoard. She teams up with Melkor against the elves.
